We're taking a stand against domestic violence

Domestic violence often takes place in the home, a place where everyone should be able to feel safe. That is why we work with Huskurage, a method for preventing domestic violence by encouraging neighbours to show concern and take action when something does not seem right.

By paying attention and taking action when something concerns you, you can make a difference.

What can you do?

Call 112 in an emergency

If you believe that a situation is urgent or threatening, call 112. Do not put yourself in danger.

Knock on your neighbour’s door

If the situation does not feel urgent or threatening, you can knock on your neighbour’s door to check if everything is okay. You can also find another reason to knock. Sometimes, simply knocking on the door can make the residents aware that their neighbours can hear what is happening.

Ask others for help

If you do not feel comfortable knocking on the door yourself, you can ask another neighbour for help. Do not enter a situation that feels threatening.

If children are involved

If you are concerned that a child is being exposed to violence or is otherwise at risk of harm, you can contact social services and report your concerns.

In an emergency, call 112.

Thank you for caring!
