Moving to another home within SSSB
If you live with us and want to move to another home within our housing stock, you register interest just as you did when you first moved in. We will automatically terminate your current tenancy agreement with two months’ notice when your new tenancy agreement is signed.
It is important that you do not terminate your current tenancy agreement yourself, as we first need to make sure that you meet the requirements for moving to another home. If the tenancy agreements overlap, you will need to pay rent for both homes during the overlapping period.
Once we have signed your new tenancy agreement, you will be blocked from registering interest in our homes for three months.
Moving during the period 1 June–30 November
If you want to move to another home within our housing stock during this period, you need to provide proof of at least 15 completed ECTS credits or equivalent from the spring semester. Your study results must have been reported between 16 February and 15 September.
For tenancy agreements starting on or after 1 August, you also need to provide a certificate of registration for at least 15 ECTS credits or equivalent for the autumn semester.
If your study results have not yet been reported, you cannot move to a new home and need to wait before registering interest in housing.
Moving during the period 1 December–31 May
If you want to move to another home within our housing stock during this period, you need to provide proof of at least 15 completed ECTS credits or equivalent from the autumn semester. Your study results must have been reported between 16 September and 15 February.
For tenancy agreements starting on or after 1 January, you also need to provide a certificate of registration for at least 15 ECTS credits or equivalent for the spring semester.
If your study results have not yet been reported, you cannot move to a new home and need to wait before registering interest in housing.
When can you not register interest in a new home?
You cannot move to a new home within SSSB during an ongoing study break or an approved subletting period. Your tenancy review must also be approved.
Documents required when signing a new tenancy agreement
- A certificate of registration showing that you are studying at least 50% of full-time at a higher education institution affiliated with SSCO.
- An active Student Union membership registered on My Pages.
- A certificate of study results showing at least 15 completed ECTS credits or equivalent per semester.
