Embla is located in Hammarby Sjöstad. The first tenants moved in in December 2006. The building contains 265 apartments, most of which are one-room apartments of various sizes. There are also spacious two-room apartments and a few three-room apartments, all with an open-plan kitchen.
Hammarby Sjöstad is a large – and still growing – district just south of Södermalm that was developed during the 2000s.
