We are Stockholms studentbostäder
Stockholms studentbostäder was founded by students who wanted to do something about the housing shortage in Stockholm. Today, we are Stockholm’s largest student housing provider and continue to build more homes to make room for even more students.
We see our homes as places where students can thrive, develop and build relationships with other students. We therefore want to adapt our homes to students’ circumstances and needs. Our residential areas are also located close to public transport or campuses.
About half of our homes are student rooms. The rest are studio apartments and student apartments. In total, we have more than 8,000 rooms and apartments in Stockholm and Solna.
By, for and with students
We are a foundation established in 1958 by the Stockholm Federation of Student Unions (SSCO). Then, just as today, students’ needs and engagement are at the heart of what we do. What we have achieved is the result of generations of students who have developed and driven us forward. Our board therefore consists of members and deputy members elected by SSCO.
Our business concept
Our main purpose is to provide students who are members of a Student Union in Stockholm with pleasant and affordable housing.
We do this by:
- providing housing
- managing and maintaining our properties
- building and developing new homes for today’s and tomorrow’s students
- ensuring that our tenants meet the housing requirements to create equal opportunities for all Student Union members
- contributing to a safe and social living environment
- working to provide a good range of services

Our vision is: “Building the future through attractive homes for students.”
As a student housing provider, we want to help our students feel safe and comfortable during their time with us. We want to create opportunities for socialising with neighbours and friends and provide a living environment that supports their studies.
Our vision also includes campus areas characterised by life and community, where people come together to create welcoming environments. Environments that embrace diversity and inspire innovation and new ideas – and in this way help create the future.
Our core values – SAFE
Our core values are represented by four Swedish words: Samarbete (Cooperation), Ansvar (Responsibility), Framåtanda (Forward thinking) and Engagemang (Commitment). Together, their initials form SAFE, which represents security.
Creating a sense of security requires us to put our core values into practice in our daily work. In this way, we work in the best interests of our tenants while continuously developing and improving.
